Different Types Of Masks That You Can Use

Applying masks is an integral part of our daily skin routine, which provides the much-needed hydration and cleansing to our worn off skin after it had endured a grueling day outside, with dirt and impurities causing your pores to clog up, and sunlight along with heat adding to further insult causing the skin to lose its moisture. There are a variety of masks available in the market which serve their purpose, however, each type has a unique function to it, which we will be discussing below:

1)    Sheet Mask

These masks are made out of natural fibers and are soaked with serum containing hyaluronic acid and other essential antioxidants. With the existing cutouts for your eyes, nose, and mouth, it makes it easy to apply this mask and evenly distribute it on your face. After 15 mins of application, remove the mask and apply some moisturizer to secure the moisture in the upper layers of the skin.

2)    Cream Masks

A variety of cream masks serve various purposes. Some have antioxidant properties, other focus on treating blemishes, while some help in restoring skin tone to take care of the wrinkle formation. Select such a mask according to your skin needs, apply a thin layer, and leave it on for a few minutes. Then wash it off and apply moisturizer to complete the process.

3)    Cleanser Mask

Some masks not only provide the necessary nourishment to your skin but also help in cleansing your skin, by remove dirt and impurities deep within your pores. Most contain charcoal extracts which also carry anti-inflammatory properties that help in soothing the skin. Before applying such masks, moisten your face with some water and spread a thin layer of the mask on to your face and leave it on for almost 5 mins. Then rinse it off with warm water while gently massaging your skin in order to effectively remove dirt and impurities. Follow it off with moisturizer application.

4)    Sleep Mask

During your sleep, while your body relaxes, your skin has an excellent opportunity to be treated with much-needed nourishment, especially in winters as the dry weather can make your skin coarse and may lead to a lack of skin tone. Sleep masks are like cream masks, but only much thicker. They contain hyaluronic acid and other antioxidants that help in hydrating the skin and keep the skin healthy. Apply a sleep mask after washing your face. It can be used even after using other kinds of skin masks. Wash it off in the morning with warm water and continue with your daily morning skin routine.
